Hello there readers :)

Ideally my plan with this blog is to keep a record of my new experiences.  I strive to learn new things regardless of whether or not they will be useful to me at any point in time.  Sure it's nice to be able to use the skills I intend to develop.  But I'm all about randomness and kitchiness. If you don't already know me, it might help to have some background info.  I'm not like other people for the most part.  I don't share their priorities.  I adore the unlovable.  The runts.  I like who I am and enjoy an eclectic mix of hobbies and things.  I recently read about St Rita, the patron saint of lost and impossible causes.  That's pretty much exactly my modus operandi.  As a result, I tend to get hurt by other people who seem to think that i'm dumb or clueless.  I can be quite flighty and frequently miss some pretty obvious things.  But I am me.  I believe strongly that people should be free to be who they are as long as they aren't infringing on other people's rights to do the same. As of right now, I am in the awkward phase where I am not an adult but i'm no longer a child.  This project will hopefully help me to strike the right balance between mature and immature.  To be perfectly honest, it is unlikely that I will ever be 100% grown up.  That's definitely not something I strive for either.  I enjoy my whimsical albeit naive outlook on life, but I also can become quite moody.  Here is to the possibility of a more consistent, cohesive life and to never truly growing old.  A favorite quote sums up my new motto:

"Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives...and to the "good life," whatever it is and wherever it happens to be."
    --- Hunter S. Thompson

I'm eager to start seeking out the good life.  The simple pleasures are what i'm all about.  I'm pondering what my first goals should be.  I'm considering several mini projects.  Tomorrow I will determine a short list to get me started on my mission.  Good night all.  Sweet dreams.
